DemoShelf

Cookie Policy

Last updated July 30, 2026

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies DemoShelf uses. There is no sign-in and no personalisation here, so the only optional technology is analytics — and it runs only if you allow it.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. Sites also use related technologies such as localStorage, which works the same way for our purposes. We describe both together below.

What we use

Essential — always active

Required for the site to work and to honour your privacy choices. These cannot be switched off.

TechnologyPurposeDuration
cc_consent (localStorage)Remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask again6 months

Analytics — only with your consent

Helps us see which videos people watch and where the site is confusing, so we can improve it. Nothing in this category loads until you accept — if you decline, neither PostHog nor Google Analytics is initialised and no storage is written at all.

TechnologyPurposeProvider
PostHog (cookies + localStorage)Page views and product analytics, tied to a random identifier rather than to your namePostHog Inc. (EU region)
Google Analytics — _ga, _ga_* (cookies)Page views and aggregate audience reporting, tied to a randomly generated client ID. IP addresses are anonymised and advertising and personalisation signals are switched off.Google LLC

Session recording — a separate consent

PostHog can also replay how you moved through the pages. We treat this as its own choice rather than folding it into analytics, because being recorded is more intrusive than being counted — accepting analytics does not on its own switch it on, and you can decline it while leaving analytics enabled. Anything typed into a field is masked before it leaves your browser.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.

Managing your choices

You can change your decision at any time — including withdrawing consent after granting it.

You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop the site working, since nothing here depends on them.

Third-party services

If you consent to analytics, data is sent to:

  • PostHog — product analytics and session recording, processed in the EU. Privacy policy
  • Google Analytics — aggregate audience and traffic reporting. Privacy policy

Why you may still see other storage in your browser

Two further things can appear in browser tooling that are not our cookies:

  • Media caching. Videos and images load from our storage provider's content delivery network, which may use its own caching headers so files don't download twice.
  • Your own browser. Browsers cache pages, fonts and images locally to speed up repeat visits. That is browser behaviour, not something this site controls.

External links

Following a link to an external seller takes you to a site with its own cookie practices. Check that site's policy once you leave here.

Changes

If this policy changes, the “last updated” date above will change with it.
